Deep, chronic, emotional wounds do not just go away . . . ever. But over time, they just might evolve from traumatic wounds into strengths and advantages. The operative term here, is, over time, and of course, it depends upon what decisions we make and what actions we take during this time. For now, these terribly sad and painful emotions need to be accepted, understood, and well-managed. We can benefit from practicing emotional self-discipline, while we simultaneously feel supported. Intense anger, dissapointment, disillusion, self-harm, and resentment can be managed and quelled, but don't try it alone.
