Leadership Coaching Psychology

Adapt leadership skills to yourself, your personality, and your psychological preferences.

Richard W. Anton, M.A., B.A., Dip Ed

“We are all differently gifted. Some of us may be born to lead; still, the leadership ability we are born with must be developed, coached, and exercised regularly, just as natural abilities or talents in athletics, the arts, and other pursuits can be fully realized through practice. Regardless of what natural leadership traits you bring to the table, your leadership ability can and should be developed.”

Reduce day-to-day anxiety. Improve your understanding of how you operate and approach challenges and problem solve; it will increase confidence at work, leading to better success in your job. Together, we’ll build a structure you enjoy that will reduce feelings of stress and anxiety, increase your motivation, and get you noticed by the right people in the right way. Ultimately, your confidence will soar.

It’s not uncommon for today’s best and brightest leaders to experience emotional challenges. They feel superb for one moment. Only to experience a sudden shift to feeling stressed out and anxious or down, depressed, and unmotivated in the next. Perhaps this occurs at a less than conscious level of awareness, but it may also be a fact that . . .

“You get what you focus on.” – Vannoy & Ross

Leadership Mindset

Why not establish a mental set and practice it until it becomes routine? Don’t try to be objective, ignoring the emotions you and others are experiencing. Emotions are data that you should utilize to assist you in making better decisions. You might rely on your instincts when insufficient information is available. But you could just as quickly rely on a mental set you have carefully crafted specifically for times like this. Rely on your emotions and mindset during high-performance opportunities to successfully guide you through stressful situations.

More than a means of getting ahead and gaining power, leadership must be understood as a serious professional and personal responsibility. At the same time, it is essential to know what talents you possess that you bring to the leadership table. Do you know what strengths you have? Every leader has their own unique set of skills. According to the Gallup Organization, “we spend too much time focusing on our weaknesses, trying to make them stronger rather than recognizing our strengths.”

When you focus on your weaknesses, you miss out on utilizing what you do best for yourself, your team, and your organization. Understand “your people” for the organization’s “profit and loss statement.” Step up your leadership efforts by enhancing your awareness of what you do best.

Enhanced Leadership Capabilities

“Mitt Romney’s compulsion to show teeth . . . demonstrated at every turn his utter insensitivity toward half the electorate . . . and he himself conceded, just how important emotional intelligence has become what we look for in leaders.” – Sylvia Ann Hewlett

Lead from the Heart

Promotions are likely on hold during the pandemic. However, people are watching you now more closely than ever. How your performance rallies people around you now, or not, may make you the leader you’ve always dreamed of being and that others need. Psychological leadership coaching may give you the “look and feel” you believe in.

Find yourself. Connect with your inner leader to enhance your leadership presence as a way into your next promotion. Connecting the dots and creating a clear strategy with a leadership coach can have advantages. Talk confidentially with someone who understands what you’re going through and has a unique perspective on leadership’s underlying psychology.

This collaboration might be the resource you need at this time. Leadership coaching will put an exceptionally effective point on your strategy. Others will notice the difference, and you’ll feel more confident and secure in the process. Ensure your future unfolds in your favor. Don’t just lead.

Become A Leadership Legend

The impact is immediate when we take a leadership approach and think like leaders. This thinking model is broad in scope and begins to impact our decisions. From the smallest to the most meaningful communication. How we greet people, to how and why we interact with them. Your presence in every meeting throughout the day, to your prized vision of the future.

Leadership combined with Performance Enhancement assessments will open up a fast track to your future.

You’ll discover more about your uniqueness and your own identity. You’ll be able to align your decisions to your values. Then integrate that knowledge into your real-time situations.” – Richard W. Anton, M.A., B.A., Dip Ed.

The Psychological Coaching Advantage

We seek to add value to you & your organization in ways that regular leadership training does not address. Courses and workshops are training mechanisms. They can be valuable in initial learning but often fail to enable leaders to reach their full potential. A psychological approach allows us to help you realize more value.

Follow-up

Research shows that we forget most of what we learn in courses. Secure your new learning. We’ll return to the content repeatedly. You’ll practice and develop new skills (as opposed to learning about them).

Time

Courses are typically too short of entrenching new behaviors. It takes time and repetition to ensure that new habits “take.” Our program lasts (on average) 6 months to a year to allow you as a leader to develop new skills truly. From a practical perspective, your efforts will also fit better into your schedule. They are regular but not as time-intensive as a course.

Individual psychology

Generic courses do not address an individual’s experiences or unique psychology. The coaching approach does just that through one-on-one orientation/educational sessions. We provide individual, confidential coaching sessions and optional group sessions. We help each leader (both individually and as part of a team). This approach can help you capitalize on your unique strengths and how you manifest new skills.

Strengths-focused Leadership Assessment

o Focus on Strengths (as opposed to problems only) first ensures we build on a solid foundation. Next, you’ll increase your self-awareness, self-esteem, and self-confidence. You’ll now be better situated to ensure that a much more constructive approach is applied when conflict arises.

We utilize a comprehensive Assessments Results Profile. Determining the focus for EQ (emotional intelligence) development in your coaching sessions is essential. A final primary key to success exists. It integrates these new strategies and skills into the leader’s day-to-day leadership, communication, and interactions.

Personal Accountability

Working with each team member separately on their plan is an advantage. This approach generates personal accountability to take action on specific issues and adds value.
