Carson’s Approach to Therapy
Carson’s approach is warm, thoughtful, and collaborative. He takes time to understand what you are experiencing rather than rushing toward solutions.
His work is grounded in curiosity, compassion, and careful attention to the patterns that shape how we think, feel, and respond. Therapy may include practical strategies, but it also creates space to understand why certain difficulties keep recurring and what might help you respond differently.
Carson believes that therapy works best when people feel genuinely heard and respected. His aim is not to tell you who you should become, but to help you develop greater clarity, self-understanding, and confidence in your ability to navigate your life.
ADHD and Practical Support
Carson has a particular interest in working with adults and adolescents experiencing ADHD. Many of the people he works with are capable and thoughtful but find that certain parts of everyday life require considerably more effort than they seem to require for others.
ADHD can affect much more than attention. Difficulties with organization, task initiation, procrastination, time management, emotional regulation, and follow-through can create frustration at work, at home, and in relationships. Over time, repeated experiences of inconsistency or feeling misunderstood can also affect confidence and the way a person understands themselves.
Therapy can provide both practical support and a deeper understanding of these patterns. Carson works collaboratively with clients to identify strategies that fit their particular circumstances, while also exploring the expectations, habits, and emotional responses that may have developed around ADHD.
The goal is not simply to compensate for difficulties or to try harder. It is to develop a clearer understanding of how you function and find approaches that allow you to work more effectively with your strengths.

Training
Carson draws from evidence-informed approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Motivational Interviewing. He adapts these approaches to the person in front of him rather than applying a single method to every client.
