An Issue of Professional Services Leadership
Qualified, experienced, and yet you’re new to Professional Services leadership. You know you need to learn the in’s and out’s of your new role. You’re going to have to influence others and create a sense of team for people. You believe that you’ll require the personal characteristics of a productive leader. You have many concerns and unanswered questions.
“I’m used to completing work-related tasks, not communicating with colleagues.” “Shouldn’t everyone be motivated already?“ “How will I empower others and maintain healthy boundaries?” You rely upon your strengths and are guided by your values.
What about delivering feedback? I’ve always avoided conflict. Again, we need to consider your leadership style and what is going to work for you. Preparing yourself to deliver feedback is always valuable. Then consider your soft skills and which ones will be most effective in this type of situation.
